Privacy policy

Speediance Australia is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, how we keep it safe, and how you can access, correct or complain about the personal information we hold about you.

Who we are

FUTURE MVMT PTY LTD (ACN 642 486 244, ABN 27 642 486 244), trading as Speediance Australia.
Level 1/54 Balgowlah Road, Balgowlah NSW 2093, Australia.
Telephone: 1300 383 469
Email: hello@speediance.com.au

We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy applies to personal information we collect through speediance.com.au, our customer service channels, and our showroom and demonstration activities.

Information we collect

  • Identity and contact details: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing addresses, and anything else you give us when you create an account, place an order, book a demonstration or contact support.
  • Order and payment information: what you bought, your order history and delivery details. Card payments are handled by our payment providers; we do not store full card numbers on our systems.
  • Device and usage information: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring pages, and how you move through our site.
  • Communications: records of the emails, calls, chats and messages you exchange with our sales and support teams.

How we use it

  • Processing, fulfilling and delivering your orders, including warranty work and servicing.
  • Managing your account and answering your enquiries.
  • Improving our products, our website and our service.
  • Preventing fraud and keeping our systems secure.
  • Sending you marketing where you have opted in.
  • Meeting our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.

Who we share it with

We share personal information with service providers acting on our behalf: payment processors, freight and delivery carriers, warehousing and installation partners, IT and hosting providers, customer messaging and support platforms, and analytics and advertising providers. We may also disclose personal information where the law requires or allows it, to protect our rights, or in connection with a sale or restructure of our business. We do not sell your personal information.

Used machine marketplace

If you list or enquire about a machine on our second-hand marketplace, we handle some extra information to run that free service.

  • What is public: anyone who views the marketplace can see, for each listing:
    • the city or region, the machine's model and included accessories, its condition and price;
    • the listing photos, and any notes or selling reason the seller adds;
    • an estimate of its remaining warranty, worked out from its original delivery date.
  • What we share with the other party: if you enquire about a listing, your email address and message are sent to the seller so they can reply to you directly.
  • Verifying a listing: if you list a machine, we check your original order number and email a code, and your private link to manage the listing, to the address on that order. This confirms the original purchase, not current ownership.
  • Automated checks: listing photos and text are checked automatically by a content-safety service provider before they go live.
  • Reports: if you report a listing, we keep the reason and any details you add, with a one-way code made from your network address so each person is counted once. The seller is told the reasons, not who reported.
  • Records: when you list or enquire, we record the terms version, your ticked acknowledgements and the time you accepted them. When you request a code, we record the order number you entered and a one-way code of your network address to prevent misuse.
  • Why we handle it: to provide the introduction between buyer and seller that you have asked for.
  • How long we keep it: active listings expire automatically 90 days after they are created. We keep enquiry messages and listing records only for as long as we need them to run the marketplace, act on reports and meet our legal obligations.

Storage outside Australia

Some of our service providers store or process personal information outside Australia, including in the European Union, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and the United States. Before personal information is handled overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart and session working, to measure how the site is used, and to deliver and measure advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies will affect how parts of the site work.

Marketing and how to opt out

Where you have opted in, we may contact you by email, SMS or messaging apps with offers and product news. Every marketing message includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time by emailing hello@speediance.com.au. Opting out of marketing does not stop service messages about an order you have already placed.

Security and how long we keep it

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this policy or to meet our legal obligations, including tax and consumer-guarantee record keeping, and then delete or de-identify it. If an eligible data breach occurs, we will respond in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date. Email hello@speediance.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable period. If we cannot give you what you have asked for, we will tell you why.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at hello@speediance.com.au and we will investigate and reply to you. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Children

Our website is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If we find that we have, we will delete it.

Other websites

Our site may link to websites we do not run. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and we encourage you to read their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with the date it was last updated.
